The lake has ferries from beach to the island of Maggiore and pretty lakeside towns, Monte del lago and Magione also offer windsurfing,
watersports and pedaloes and have a large selection of cafes and restaurants. The town of Magione boasts restaurants, cafes, dress shops, atm facilities, a newspaper stand (selling foreign newspapers), bakeries, supermarkets, butchers and a post office.
